Year after year, I (and probably almost every other human being out there) make countless New Year’s resolutions. I do it knowing that they probably won’t last past the second week of January. But not this year. This year I’ve decided to change things up a bit. I wrote a short list of aspects of my life that I’d really like to improve on in the New Year. So here it is:
Live more in the moment
We live in a time where technology and social media tends to take over our lives and control so many aspects of it (I’m certainly guilty). In 2018, I want to try to be more present and in the moment rather than being so caught up in trying to capture it on my phone.
Stop procrastinating
This is a big one for me. I am an avid procrastinator and will find any excuse to procrastinate doing something I’m not so fond of. Hopefully, fingers crossed, that will change in the New Year. After all, why not just get it over with right?
Be more environmentally friendly
In 2018 I want to drastically reduce my carbon footprint. Not just continue being Vegan but also cutting back on my plastic usage and so much more.
Show more gratitude
Gratitude is sooo important and in today’s society, we (including myself) don’t show enough of it. I added this to the list so It’d be a constant reminder to be more grateful.
Become healthier/more active/adventurous
I not only want to live a healthier lifestyle but I also want to explore and connect with nature more. I want to go on more hikes, more beach days, basically spend more time outdoors. This goal goes hand in hand with me living more in the moment. I have never been the most active of persons…but we’ll work on it. And no more junk food! 😦 (okay maybe just a little).
Join me on this journey of self-improvement. Write a list of things in your life that you’d like to improve on. Do this somewhere where you’ll see them regularly (I wrote mine in my planner) and get started!
