When I think of a green smoothie, I think of a gross mixture of veges, a lumpy texture and a stomach-turning colour. But this doesn’t have to be the case. Green smoothies can, in fact, be delicious. I started drinking green smoothies for the health benefits, not because of the taste (I hated the taste at first). After some experimentation, I’ve found a recipe that I love and is unbeleafably good. Now I actually find myself looking forward to drinking a green smoothie. Crazy right?Lettuce jump right into the recipe.
- 1/2 cup spinach leaves
- 1 granny smith apple (sliced)
- 1/2 banana
- 1/4 cup sliced cucumber
- the juice of 1 (small-medium sized) lime
- 1/2 cup coconut water
- 1 cup ice
- Place all ingredients in a blender and blend well until smooth
